Douglas Booth To Play Miley's Love Interest In 'LOL'

British actor Douglas Booth has signed up to star with Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore in LOL: Laughing Out Loud.

Booth, who recently played Boy George in the BBC biopic Worried About The Boy, will play the romantic lead opposite Cyrus's Lola character.

LOL is based on the French movie helmed by Lisa Azuelos, who is returning to direct the Hollywood remake.

Cyrus earlier told DS of the project: "It's about this mum who's going through a mid-life crisis of drugs and all this crazy stuff and she thinks that her daughter will never understand and look up to her anymore because of the choices she makes.

"She then finds her daughter's diary and realises that she's doing worse than her and they go through this crisis together at different points of their life but realise how similar they are. I think it's a really cool story. We're shooting it independently so we can do it with exactly the edginess we want."

Booth's credits also include Julian Fellowes's From Time To Time and the forthcoming TV miniseries Pillars Of The Earth.
